10 Worst Performances In Rock Music History
6. Oasis at Wembley Stadium
Towards the beginning of the '00s, it was far from the best time to be Oasis. After completely running out their momentum on Be Here Now, the Gallaghers were steadily trying to pick up the pieces with their next album Standing on the Shoulder of Giants, with Bonehead and Guigsy leaving the group before the record came out. This was Oasis though, and their performance at Wembley was going to be the most memorable of their career...just for the wrong reasons.
Around the time that the live broadcast was supposed to go out, both Liam and Noel were having personal struggles, with Liam separating from his wife and Noel being heavily addicted to valium to help counteract his depression. Though Noel came to bring a night of fun rock and roll, Liam could not be arsed that night and did whatever he wanted to do, from intentionally screwing up the words of songs to just dropping out and not singing them at all.
Considering what happened on the stage that night, it's amazing that the band managed to last for another 8 years after this incident, with Noel clearly getting more and more agitated and Liam almost goading the crowd and making them feel bad for even showing up to a show like this. While they have long since praised the work of the Beatles, this kind of gig was far from the realm of peace and love.
