Again, another group that made a miraculous recovery when switching singers. Genesis is well known for seamlessly transitioning from Peter Gabriel to Phil Collins on vocals. What is less talked about is twenty years later when Collins quit the band himself. Needing a change in direction and wanting to work on other projects he announced his departure was amicable.

Unsure whether to disband after 25 years of making music, the remaining two members went ahead and started auditioning new singers. They settled on Ray Wilson of the Scottish band Stiltskin, and made the announcement in 1997. Calling All Stations was released later that year. The album was rather successful in Europe where it even reached #2 in the UK. However, it was poorly received in the United States and a North American tour would end up canceled due to poor sales and lack of interest from the fans.

That would be the last studio record from Genesis and the group split from Wilson. In the years since, they have done a few tours with Collins returning, though it's not likely there will be any new studio recordings.
