5. Frankie Vera
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMLqHKu73A8 'Toes' is the latest single from the talented Frankie Vera who, it's hard to believe is a mere eighteen years old and yet already available on iTunes. Influenced by artists such as Gabrielle Aplin, Kate Bush and Warpaint, Frankie writes enchanting lyrics that are accompanied by pleasingly inoffensive guitar and piano. Her voice is charming, her melodies build and fall in all the right places and therefore it would be easy to mistake her for age to be higher than it really is. The lyrics "I think I've fallen, I've fallen for you / or maybe I'm jumping 'cos I want to" from 'Fall' gives you an idea of the sort of themes she sings about not too different to Taylor Swift in terms of her lyrical content - 'History Books' being a bittersweet melody that captures the trials and tribulations of romance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BX1RUBpN7M A bubbly, lovely individual, Frankie works hard at what she does; a fact which is evident if you listen to the well-produced music she makes. She's definitely the sort of artist I'd want a physical copy of the album from regardless of her digital availability, to say the least.

Hi I'm Beth, a 17 year old girl from the UK who is most often found sat in front of my computer in my room making no noise and pretending I don't exist*. I like coffee (black, two sugars), old books and I'm currently studying the art of procrastination.
On a more serious note, I'm currently studying for my A Levels, taking English Literature, English Language, History and Economics. I intend to study either English or Journalism at university.
*that's a Harry Potter reference. If you didn't get that, then shame on you.
