12 Best B-Sides Of All Time

6. The Beatles - I Am The Walrus

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7r52ZBx0KMI The Beatles at their psychedelic, weird and wonderful best. 'I Am The Walrus' was the B-side to the number 1 single 'Hello, Goodbye' in 1967. It was featured in the Beatles' film Magical Mystery Tour and was considered one of the highlights. If ever there was a song showing LSD and its effects, this was it. The song is one of the Beatles most complex and bizarre recordings. The lyrics feature references to writer Lewis Carrol and parts from Shakespeare's King Lear and the recording includes a de-tuned radio, a 16 piece vocal choir and a back-up orchestra. An awful lot of effort, only to have it released as a B-side. But, it obviously worked as the song is one of the best known Beatles songs ever recorded.
