12 Best Hamilton Songs
8. You'll Be Back
While all three of King George III's songs from Hamilton are: "Awesome! Wow!" You'll Be Back is easily the best, ahead of What Comes Next? and I Know Him.
With the US and the UK on the brink of war, the King delivers his message to his: "Favourite subject", addressing America as if it was his lover who has complete and utter control other.
It's more traditional music, which makes it the outcast in Hamilton, but regardless of that it remains one of the funniest and most popular songs in the soundtrack.
Johnathan Groff's performance as King George III helps both the song and the character stand out in a musical packed full of memorable characters. It really shouldn't be possible to laugh at someone singing about murder but somehow it is:
"Cuz when push comes to shove, I will kill your friends and family to remind you of my love"
Funnily enough, You'll be Back was the very first Hamilton song that Miranda wrote and its iconic name came from actor/comedian Hugh Laurie, whom he met while guest-starring on the TV series House.
