https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WibQR0tQ0P8 After the release of Yeezus Kanye's bleakest and most commercially inaccessible album yet many wondered what was next for the hip-hop musician. Would he lighten up a bit? Or was he still on a quest to chase darkness? Fans got a bit of a glimpse at the very start of 2015, when he dropped the music video for Only One The music video itself is remarkable for its simplicity, but in this simplicity there's something of a surreal quality. Firstly there's the jarring opening which sees Kanye jog towards the camera in slow motion, then there's the fact that much of the video is permeated by a thick fog. The video features just a handful of locations, and several close-up shots of West and his daughter North. The whole thing is strikingly intimate, a far cry from his usual elaborate concepts and expensive productions. Not only that, but it's masterfully directed by Spike Jonze, the famous film-maker responsible for Being John Malkovich, Where The Wild Things Are and Her.
