12 Best Screamo Metal Bands Of All Time

9. Bring Me The Horizon

Bring Me The Horizon have managed to do something seemingly impossible for a metal band. Currently sharing a label with Justin Timberlake and The Foo Fighters, the band hit the mainstream in a big way. Granted the music is a lot different now than when they started, but you can't discredit the work they put in while still flying the metal banner.

Having started out in the days of MySpace and huge fringes, the Steel City quintet gained a large underground following with their first EP. The debut album 'Count Your Blessings' offered some of the group's heaviest work yet, taking influence from the death metal scene at the time. The second album was a departure from that sound. A move that poralised fans, but lead to commercial success.

After 'Suicide Season', they started experimenting with their sound and have continued to refine and evolve with every album. The introduction of electronic aspects offered new fans a hook to grab on to, while still retaining the heavier tone. While older fans may not appreciate the increasingly radio friendly sound, no one can deny that it has worked out highly in the group's favour.

The group was recently tasked with writing original material for movie and game soundtracks. Vocalist Oli Sykes and keyboardist Jordan Fish joined forces with Halsey for the track 'Experiment On Me', which featured on the soundtrack for 2019's Birds of Prey soundtrack. The group also were approached by gaming hero Hideo Kojima and released 'Ludens' alongside the release of Death Stranding.
