12 Hugely Anticipated Hard Rock Albums Coming In 2020 (And Beyond)

Ghost have been one of the most exciting bands to emerge out of the metal scene in recent years. With their elaborate stage productions and brilliant combination of melody and heaviness, the band have made the sweet sounds of heavy metal sound fresh and exciting again. With the band now off the road, fans are clamoring to see what their next record will sound like.

Though the band is known as a collective, most of the songwriting comes courtesy of musical mastermind Tobias Forge. Across the past few years, Forge has taken the band down a different road, with songs that have gone from chamber music to all-out hard rock on Prequelle. Fans got even more excited during the last show of the band's tour, where the frontman Papa Nihil was replaced with a fourth incarnation of the Papa Emeritus character.

Given the shakeup in the presentation, it's up in the air as to whether this new record will be building off the slick sounds of the band's last outing or be a callback to the band's earlier output of cathedral-like dread. Regardless of what genre it falls into, Ghost have seemed to be on an ascending path that has shown no signs of slowing down no matter what's in its way.
