10. Heaven And Hell - Black Sabbath
Black Sabbath will forever ever be known as one of the heaviest bands to walk the Earth. With 4 equally twisted minds working in conjunction, the band's early career saw one record after the next of pure sonic darkness that predicted the heavy metal that would come later. On the other hand, fans were a bit leary to accept a new iteration of Sabbath once vocalist Ozzy Osbourne was kicked out.
Osbourne's bluesy belt was what made most of the band's early material classic, with him sounding like the vocal embodiment of haunted dread. However, the band's decision to draft Ronnie James Dio turned out to be a match made in heaven. Given Dio's powerful belt, Heaven and Hell proved to be one of the strongest records of their career, with songs like "Neon Knights" being some of the greatest anthems for the second wave of metal bands.
Though fans couldn't argue with the quality behind the songs, most fans decided to flock to Ozzy's solo career and leave Sabbath in the past. They may be known as metal dinosaurs these days, but the work that each member put into Heaven and Hell showed they had much more to give without the Prince of Darkness at the helm.
