12 Most Hated Hard Rock Albums (From Great Bands)

9. Chinese Democracy - Guns N Roses

Guns N Roses have more than earned their status as a one of the greatest hard rock bands of all time. After bursting onto the scene with the seedy masterwork Appetite for Destruction, the band proved that they could take on the big leagues when their Use Your Illusion double album sold in droves.

Once the band came up for air, everyone was at each other's throats. With frontman Axl Rose trying to chase perfection for the band's next record, all of the other members seemed to grow weary of waiting on their singer's more extravagant demands. This led to Slash, Duff McKagan, and every other original member leaving the group in the mid-90's, with Axl owning the Guns N Roses name.

Instead of hunkering down and getting to work, Chinese Democracy was meticulously worked on for nearly 20 years before seeing the light of day in 2008. Though the record is far from the worst record ever made, it was seen as one of the most forgettable records in the band's canon almost instantly. Though Axl had spent years producing and millions of dollars recording it, Chinese Democracy went from being the most sought after hard rock album to the most maligned album rollouts fans had ever experienced.
