12 Most OVERRATED Hard Rock Bands Of All Time

7. Buckcherry

Say what you want to about Poison, at least they had a handful of songs in their catalog that hold up then and now. Emerging in the late 2000's, Buckcherry's attempt at bringing rock back to its roots was a faceplant that got treated like a roaring success.

To be fair, these guys at least had a valiant idea for what they wanted their sound to be. You can definitely hear a lot of Motley Crue in the band's early material, but certain elements of their sound hint at genres like punk and blues music. Then again, a good idea doesn't always mean that everything will work out. Across the band's catalog, the two disparate styles sound mindlessly forced together, with Josh Todd's intense shriek bringing every song into the realm of near-parody. Couple that with generic lyrics about the rock and roll lifestyle and abundant sexual references and you've got the best band for anyone between the ages of 13 and 18.

The band's glory days are clearly long behind them, but as the years go on, they have continued on as the epitome of the bland mainstream hard rock act. If you're looking for a mockery of the days of rock excess, you'd have a better chance enjoying Steel Panther than this attempt at being taken seriously.
