12 Most OVERRATED Hard Rock Bands Of All Time
6. Kid Rock
Kid Rock has actually managed to smooth out his approach in recent years. With his wild years passed him, the man's chops as the lowdown country troubadour has resulted in songs that feel like they're coming from a genuine place. He may work better with an acoustic guitar in his hands, but there's no excuse for calling him a savior of rock music.
When he first emerged on the scene in the 90's, the probability of finding any amount of good music coming on a Kid Rock album were slim to none. Though he would occasionally have a track or two that lands a decent punch, the majority of any record from this period featured painful attempts at getting street cred across hip hop and rock while not being particularly great at either genre.
Even if everything about this was supposed to go wrong, fans across the world still couldn't seem to get enough of the relentless stupidity of something like "Bawitaba." Complete with a sample sheet and production credits running miles long, Kid Rock was known as the poster child for what happens when we let nu metal spin out of control. It's great that he's in a better place nowadays, but the tunes that he was pumping out in his "prime" are probably best left in the past.
