12 Most OVERRATED Hard Rock Bands Of All Time
5. Nickelback
When you're talking about bad bands that shouldn't have seen the amount of success they got, many people probably expected a band like Nickelback to top this list. For as many stadiums they have filled over the years, the band has been dragged through the mud for being the most derivative take on hard rock music. Then again, it's not like those arguments are unfounded.
Though Nickelback showed potential in their early years, with each passing album they have done everything they can to squander it with riffs that sound like the definition of "phoned in." However, there is one little factor that works in the band's favor here. Though they may have ruled the airwaves for some reason in the 2000's, the band received the same kind of rancor from rock fans since their inception. Their fans may hype them up as the greatest band on the planet, but those same fans have dealt with the rest of the world explaining the logic behind the band's pitfalls.
In fact, the love and hate for this band are so at-odds that Nickelback themselves almost fall somewhere in the middle as not necessarily the worst but miles away from the best. Even though they still have sell out tour cycles, you could remove Nickelback from the hard rock community and very little creative merit would be lost.
