6. Britney Spears - ...Baby One More Time
One of the older entries on the list, Britney Spears' ...Baby One More Time is included because it is mind-boggling to look back at this video with the knowledge that someone actually green-lit it. While controversy at the time centred on the fact that Spears was 16 and showing off her midriff, time has actually revealed that the major issue with the video is its blatant sexualisation of school uniforms and quite blatant paedophiliac overtones. The age of the dancers isn't really all that important, although Britney's age at the time certainly raises alarm bells of typical music industry sexual exploitation. It is the sense of dress that is the problem. Given the always increasing rise of pornographic material relating to "kinky" schoolgirl outfits, it's ridiculous that a major studio would put out a video - that it claims was innocent! - entirely built around the allure of a young girl dressed for school. It doesn't necessarily seem shocking in today's culture of hen parties in schoolgirl outfits and "sexy" murdered schoolgirl Hallowe'en costumes, but that doesn't make the video (or, indeed, the concepts behind those costumes) any less troublesome. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-u5WLJ9Yk4
