Lets just try to not be cynical here. Sure, Taylor Swift could have a high-tech and professional social media team in her employ, each one with a job description specifically stating that they need to make her seem sweet and down-to-earth, just like the rest of us. Somehow, though, her social media presence seems a bit more genuine than that. From her first confused tweets, to maintaining that she was going to lock herself in a room until shes figured out Tumblr (which is necessary really, isnt it), she seemed to genuinely try and learn how to use these platforms to interact with her fans. And gosh, doesnt she. Whilst her more prolific fan interactions will be documented separately (eg. the Christmas presents, oh god, the Christmas presents), her use of social media is like that of your slightly useless friend who means well but is still really confused by Windows 8. She may not have got it down yet, but she definitely deserves a nod for trying.
