12 Unbelievably Underrated Beatles Tracks
10. Flying (Magical Mystery Tour)
Everybody knows The Beatles were a great band. Not only were they lyrical genius but they were also extremely accomplished when it came to their instruments. Sadly, not many people recognize just how musically talented they were, preferring to focus on the deeper meaning of their lyrics.
"Flying" is a great example of The Beatles showing off what they can do with just their tools. Plus, it is one of just a handful of songs that is credited to all four of them.
The idea to have an instrumental included on the album was said to be Paul McCartney's who wrote the initial melody while the rest of the band completed the rest. The best thing about "Flying" is that it sounds exactly what it is supposed to sound like. Yes, it sounds like you are flying.
Another cool fact about the song is that during the Magical Mystery Tour movie, the song is accompanied by landscape scenes of Iceland which were originally from unseen outtakes from the Stanley Kubrick classic, Dr. Strangelove.
Unforutauntley, due to the lack of vocals, the song is often left unheard.
