12 Unbelievably Underrated Beatles Tracks
6. Mother Nature's Son (The Beatles "The White Album")
We all know Paul McCartney has a beautiful singing voice (or at least he had) but nothing displays this more than on "Mother Nature's Son." The song allows McCartney to really show off what his vocal cords are capable of and does so in such a sweet and satisfying manner.
It's not difficult to see why the song hasn't done as well as other Macca penned anthems. Firstly, the song was basically a solo project, written and developed by McCartney with George Martin helping out during the later stages. It is not known why this was the case but this happened a lot throughout The White Album sessions. Cracks were beginning to show within the band and tensions were high. In fact, it was rumored that Lennon hated when McCartney did things without the band and was extremely angry when he found out about the recording of "Mother's Nature Son."
Another reason why it is so underrated is its place on the album. The song is stuck in the early stages of the second disc, smack bang between the rhythmic, "Yer Blues" and the stomping, "Everybody's Got Something To Hide Apart From Me And My Monkey."
Of course, it was forgotten!
