12 Unbelievably Underrated Beatles Tracks
7. Oh! Darling (Abbey Road)
"Oh! Darling" is special in that it sounds a lot like the music of the early Beatles yet it is actually one of their later tracks.
The song first appeared on the Abbey Road album and was sung by Paul McCartney who was initially unhappy with how his voice sounded. It was said that he wanted his vocals to sound as if he had been singing on stage all week, similar to that of John Lennon's fried tones during the "Twist And Shout" cover.
After the band had split up, Lennon claimed that he should have sung the song as he would've done it better. In truth, he did have a point, "Oh! Darling" does seem more like a Lennon-type song to sing but that doesn't mean Macca ruined it.
The reason why it is so underrated is that the song was quickly forgotten and swiftly swept under the rug. Furthermore, the track has never been song live and it seems unlikely that McCartney would ever want to. Think about it? It would break his voice to pieces.
