12 Worst Sellout Albums In Hard Rock

9. Turbo - Judas Priest (AGAIN)

When talking about the sell out years of Judas Priest, people are quick to point to the period of Priest without Rob Halford. Though each member plays an essential role in the band, it's pretty easy to just label the Halford-less Priest as sell outs because of the soundalike Tim "Ripper" Owens. Priest without their Metal God is already at a handicap, but even Priest at full capacity could drop the ball.

As the band entered into the 80's, they had made a massive stamp on the genre with British Steel and Screaming for Vengeance. Right when it seemed like they were going to rise to the top of the metal scene, the band started to get a horrible idea for commercial potential. Coming right after the crunchy Defenders of the Faith, Turbo is the sound of heavy metal's greatest band trying to go Top 40, with songs that sound like they could have been written by Bon Jovi.

There are some heavy songs to go around, but it almost feels like heresy hearing this come from Judas Priest rather than a typical hair metal band. This wasn't exactly going to ruin Priest overnight, but when other bands use this album as an example of screwing up, you know we have a problem.
