5. Alela Diane
folk/country/americana Sometimes its too easy to fall in love, and some of those times you shouldnt. In the case of Alela Diane, it was far too easy to fall in love but of course in the case of her music, it was definitely not one of those times that I shouldntve. However, in regards to falling in love with her? I definitely shouldnt have. I mean, shes all that way away in Portland, Oregon or touring singing songs with that angelic voice of hers, and here I am, sat in just a band t-shirt and boxer shorts because its far too warm and Ive nothing better to do. I mean, she doesnt even know I exist. Sigh. Perhaps Ill start writing poems for her... Moving swiftly away from that, Alela Diane is a singer-songwriter with a pretty rich musical past; born to musician parents; sang in her school choir; taught herself guitar; started writing songs; self-released her first recording at age 20. It seems quite clear then that music, and singing, are in Alela Dianes blood and that is something that comes through in her songs. Her music brings together elements of folk, country and Americana through hypnotic arpeggios and highlighted by Dianes stunning vocals. http://youtu.be/DvwKCgLlpXk
