6. Pity Sex
shoegaze/lo-fie/noise-pop I first heard these when stumbling upon their latest album streaming for free ahead of its release, I forget where though. So, weve another band with an album out this year that should certify their place on the musical map by right. The band are a four piece from Ann Arbor, Michigan and they sport a hazy, fuzzy sound that brings together genres like lo-fi, shoegaze and noise-pop that displays influences such as Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr by way of My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive. Their latest album, Feast of Love, is an encapsulation of those influences and sounds as the band deliver a wall of sound awash with distortion and overdrive underpinned by wistful and emotional indie-rock heart. It was another listen that I knew I had to share. http://youtu.be/XC3r3Jc44LQ
