8. This Routine Is Hell
hardcore/punk/sludge A relatively little known band, This Routine Is Hell are likely to see a significant change in that respect on the back of this years new album Howl. An album that, aside from being a great example of sludge infused and heavy hardcore, was produced by Converges Kurt Ballou; a man who not only knows how to pen brutal and phenomenal hardcore riffs but how to pick a band to produce and really highlight their sound and brilliance. The band are from the Netherlands and, as said, are on the rise and getting more well known. Having started as a particularly aggressive and passionate hardcore punk band, the group have steadily been evolving alongside their sound into a much heavier beast bringing in elements of sludge, slower, thicker riffs and a much richer sound but one that still speeds things up and thrashes when needs be. http://youtu.be/6imaKu7NioU
