7. Anamanaguchi

What way to describe Anamanaguchi? Well, the band themselves say that they create loud, fast music with a NES from 1985. Yeah, I guess thatll do. Though, seeing as Im writing this, I should try and use some of my own words, I guess. Essentially, Anamanaguchi sound like happiness, like rainbow coloured happiness, like rainbow coloured sugar coated happiness, like the soundtrack to the game version of the thing that was rainbow coloured sugar coated happiness. Yeah, thatll do. The band themselves are a four piece from New York City and they churn out a kind of candy rushing chiptune, but with a little bit of a more indie band sensibility. Focussing on an instrumental sound, the band manage to shape their craziness into instrumental music that is just as accessible and catchy as vocalized pop songs. Imagine if Nyan Cat stopped wearing pop tarts, got off his rainbow and went to college, learned to write songs, made some friends, partied hard and started a band. http://youtu.be/vc3JWo2iiGc
