13 Worst Cover Songs Of All Time

8. Happy Mondays - Boys Are Back In Town

It’s likely that you’ve heard better covers of this Thin Lizzy classic by drunks at your local pub than Happy Monday’s abysmal rendition of it in 1999. It really has to be heard to be believed.

The song was recorded long after the Manchester band’s peak years and was included as a bonus track on their Greatest Hits album.

‘Boys Are Back In Town’ is a bonafide rock classic, but the absolute state of this cover is so bad that it will literally take you a few seconds before you can even recognise the song that they are playing.

This is probably a moment in their career that Happy Mondays would rather forget, and judging by the amount of drugs they did in the ‘90s, they probably have.
