14 Most Insane Things Kanye West Tweeted (This Week)
12. Kanye Made Taylor Swift Famous
As fans listened to Kanye's new album, they heard a specific line on the song "Famous," that raised a few eyebrows: "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that b*tch famous." Now, rap music is known for embellishment, and Kanye has the creative license to use that line and not necessarily mean it. Like a lot of things that Kanye does, it created a firestorm, where Taylor's fans and peers came to her aid. Rather than let it subside, Kanye addressed the controversy on Twitter. https://twitter.com/kanyewest/status/698145869720371200 https://twitter.com/kanyewest/status/698146073190252545 https://twitter.com/kanyewest/status/698146205688320000 https://twitter.com/kanyewest/status/698146344242958336 https://twitter.com/kanyewest/status/698146619703824384 https://twitter.com/kanyewest/status/698146866098278400 https://twitter.com/kanyewest/status/698146943927787522 Let's break this down tweet-by-tweet. Kanye's first tweets that he "never dissed" Taylor Swift, somebody must have forgotten about the VMAs. The first and second points he made defending himself were perfectly fine (nice to know he at least brought the "we might still have sex" line up to his wife). When he got to the third point about talking to Taylor and her being cool with the line, Taylor's rep has gone on record to say that she never even knew about the line. Kanye did call Taylor, but to ask her to promote the song "Famous" on her Twitter, which she declined. Ye then copped out and took the heat off him by saying that it was actually Taylor that said that Kanye made her famous. I'm sure if she did, it was said in jest, as Taylor was pretty popular even before the VMA incident.
