Hopefully these guys don't require an introduction like the previous entries. But for those who have been living under a rock for the past few decades and avoiding any form of rock music. The Cure a five piece goth rock/post punk outfit from West Sussex, fronted by the now legendary Robert Smith, responsible for hit songs such as "Boys Don't Cry" and "Friday I'm In Love". The band were formed within the late 70s and have produced thirteen albums since then, with their last release "4:13 Dream" coming out six years ago now in 2008. Which brings us onto why they're present on this list, as it has been confirmed that after six years of waiting The Cure will finally release a new album within the coming months, entitled "4:14 Scream" alongside a new series of live concert DVDs. And as if that wasn't enough, fans will also be treated to a new trilogy tour, hinted to consist of seminal Cure albums, "The Top", "The Head On The Door" and "Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me" played in their entirety. This by itself may sound like monumental news, but when taken into account that the band's last tour of the UK was almost 18 years ago now in 1996! This becomes extraordinarily pleasing. Any one of these three announcements from the band would have had fans across the world eager with anticipation, but the sudden reveal of all three is guaranteed to have sent some, if not all into a state of shocked frenzy as perhaps the most interesting band in recent rock history are coming back to prove they still remain as relevant as they ever were.
