Tattoo-clad Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro experienced a phenomenal year last year, as last January saw the release of their long-awaited double album "Opposites" and soon after they were jetting across the world on their largest tour yet, stopping off during the summer closer to their homeland to headline Reading and Leeds Festival. The band have managed to become one of the most popular rock bands of recent years, moving away from their heavier rock image present throughout their first three albums, to deliver a more polished rock sound without losing any of the energy or passion that fuelled their previous work. Biffy's main attraction has always been their raucous live shows and 2014 seems like one of the best years to be a follower of the band, as it has already been confirmed that they will be returning to the UK as a headliner for the Isle of Wight festival, and are highly unlikely to limit themselves to just one festival. Also confirmed is a follow up album already; composed of eighteen tracks that did not make it onto "Opposites", it will be called "Similarities" and will offer Biffy-enthusiasts the chance to become even more captivated with the trio. An album of outtakes and B-sides may well sound like a bit of a lazy attempt to make some quick money without doing any work, yet from Biffy this isn't the case. Their previous B-sides compilation entitled "Lonely Revolutions" was released in 2010 and has become a favourite among followers due to the high quality of every track present, almost to the point it feels more impressive than the studio release it followed. The possibility of another live tour, festival slots and another album release make 2014 a very promising year for Biffy Clyro as they are given even more of a chance to prove themselves as the rock legends their devotees know they are.
