8. Icona Pop

Swedish duo Icona Pop should probably add Lena Dunham to their Christmas card list this year. The actress, writer and director elected to use I Love It, the Swedish pairs collaborative effort with British singer Charli XCX, in an episode of HBOs Girls earlier on in the year and its catchy vocals and beats have rarely been off of the television since, being used in adverts for both Sky and the Samsung Galaxy S4. Consisting of Stockholm DJs Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo, Icona Pop have been performing since 2009, but only now, having relocated to America, is the stardom that they presumably seek becoming available to them. They are yet to crack the UK chart, but I Love It is finally released as a single in Britain on June the 3rd and should change that, with Britain likely to become the tenth country in which the song has reached the top ten. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UxxajLWwzqY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1X_qmnj00sU
