15 Best Hard Rock & Metal Albums Of 2020 (So Far)

6. Ordinary Man - Ozzy Osbourne

Ever since the birth of heavy metal, Ozzy Osbourne's aura has loomed large across every generation. Though many bands have tried to capture the iconic sounds of the Prince of Darkness, all bets are off once you put him in a studio. On the other hand, many were skeptical about how this one would turn out given Osbourne's health scares in recent years.

Instead of being the sounds of a has-been feeding off nostalgia, Ordinary Man shows Osbourne fully settled onto his Metal God throne. The kind of music on here is nothing new compared to albums like No More Tears, but it's still quality stuff all things considered. Across tracks like "Ordinary Man" and "Scary Little Green Men," Osbourne pours out his soul as he looks back on his legacy and writing songs about the stuff that made parents so terrified of him back in the day.

Even if the Post Malone song "Take What You Want" doesn't satisfy the metalheads, the duo's teamup for the ending song "It's a Raid" is Osbourne at his maniacal best, with a tune that almost verges on punk rock. It's anyone's guess as to whether we're getting any more Ozzy records, but this is a good reason why the Prince of Darkness is still put in the upper echelons of rock gods.
