15 Best Metal Albums Of 2019

7. Knocked Loose - A Different Shade Of Blue

More of a hardcore album than metal, admittedly, Knocked Loose's A Different Shade of Blue is laced with enough metallic elements to make the cut regardless, with the band even going as far as implementing touches of death metal to elevate their beatdown sound to a level above what was possible on Laugh Tracks.

Tracks like "Mistakes Like Fractures" stomp, punch, and kick through Will Putney's impactful production, though its the progression in the band's songwriting that impresses the most. Knocked Loose haven't just evolved between albums, but refined every aspect of their creative process, sounding angrier, harder, and more fully-formed than ever on this well-paced dash to the finish.
