15 Best Metal Albums Of 2019

6. Full Of Hell - Weeping Choir

Weeping Choir is the most perfectly paced album of 2019 thanks to the care put into the build towards "Armory of Obsidian Glass'" emotional climax.

That eruption of tremolo-picked guitar lines, blastbeats, and Dylan Walker's genre-best screams comes after six tracks of cut-throat deathgrind, resulting in one of the year's purest musical peaks. It's utterly thrilling.

While significantly less noisy than previous Full of Hell releases, Weeping Choir isn't lacking in grindy goodness. "Thundering Hammers" sounds exactly like its title, "Burning Myrrh" is an appropriately blasting opener, and "Angels Gather Here" is practically drowning in sludge, though it sacrifices zero intensity in the process.
