15 Best Metal Albums Of 2019

8. Pijn & Conjurer - Curse These Metal Hands

Though the pairing of freewheeling post-metallers Pijn and sludgy riff merchants Conjurer looks odd on paper, Curse These Metal Hands succeeds as a perfectly coherent fusion of both bands' sounds.

"Best of both worlds" is such a cliché, but exactly what this project is. It's never more apparent than on "High Spirits," with its joyous, uplifting opening phases eventually giving way to weighty, pummeling grooves. It's a fantastic blend of dirt and melancholy and while it's remarkable that Pijn and Conjurer found this level of cohesion on their very first project together, Curse These Metal Hands' brevity suggests they have plenty ideas left on the table.
