An understated but brilliant opening riff that, if anything, completely throws off the listener. The song explodes with passion and captures the essence of what a rock song should be. Another catchy PJ number, it too was never released as a single, yet still managed to capture the hearts and minds of so many listeners.

Appearing on 1994's Vitalogy, Corduroy is one of the most difficult songs to analyse. There have been several theories on what it is about, ranging from one man's relationship with fame, a man craving a partner over money and love itself. 

But, Vedder said he wrote it after he saw a re-make of a corduroy jacket he once wore selling for $650, when he had bought his for $14. It is Vedder's comment on money and fame, wrapped up in another anthem.
