15 Most Charismatic Frontmen Of All Time

3. Robert Plant

Robert Plant

Robert Plant has a quality in his voice that is completely alien and other-worldly, where he emits decibels some frontmen could only dream of as teeny pubescents. His pallet of influences derive from blues and folk traditions, which isn't surprising when you look closely at the use of the 12-bar blues in most Zepplin records. Aside from 'the voice', what makes Robert so special is his illustrious lyricism and his ability to capture the zeitgeist not only as part of Led Zepplin but also as a solo artist. In a world where nostalgia is everything and cashing in on it is key, Plant doesn't sit there with a creepy smile on his face and dollar signs in his eyes, but he maintains dignity and authenticity through experimenting with new styles and genres, or reinterpreting Zepplin songs so he's not merely regurgitating the same material to fans who continue to support him today. How many times have you heard people attempt to imitate his vocals in Stairway to Heaven? Robert was the original and is still the best. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtN8oBjMr_E
