7. Jim Morrison
As a member of the tragic 27 Club, Jim Morrison was not just a musician but a poet. His stage presence was magnetic and he created psych-rock for the psyche. He was unpredictable while audiences gazed at him without wanting to look away for a second. His short life wasn't devoid of controversy, he was arrested several times and it was no secret Morrison had a serious alcohol and drug addiction, but it was his lyricism which made him a gifted frontman. His poetry published in 1969 named The New Creatures and The Lords/Notes on Vision explore the gloomier side of Morrison's personality depicting sex, death and fame. This darker imagery echoed when Morrison said: "I see myself as an intelligent, sensitive human, with the soul of a clown which forces me to blow it at the most important moments." An unnerving sentiment given his untimely death soon after. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_yWyBjDEaU
