15 Facts You Didn't Know About Blink-182
14. Love Was In The Air When The Band Wrote All The Small Things
Turns out that All the Small Things is more than just a song about falling in love.
Tom DeLonge wrote the band's biggest hit for his then-girlfriend Jennifer Jenkins in the late-90s. The song perfectly combines the singsong element of blink-182 with their cheeky lyricism, but has a heart of gold at its core. DeLonge and Jenkins married in 2001 and have two kids together, but unfortunately split in 2019.
However, All the Small Things wasn't just a song about love for DeLonge - it's actually how Mark Hoppus met his future wife.
Skye Everly was MTV talent on the set for the song's music video when Hoppus attempted to score. The way the story goes, DeLonge attempted to embarrass the bassist by asking Everly out on his behalf.
She said no, but clearly something changed in the meantime. The couple have been married since 2002 and have a child. Although DeLonge may no longer be with Jenkins, lines like “Always I know, You'll be at my show, Watching, waiting, commiserating” will be sung by millions for a long time into the future.
