4. Appetite For Destruction (1987) - Guns n' Roses
Probably the most popular and accessible album on this list, Appetite For Destruction was, and still is, a monster of an album. Every song, and I do mean every song, is a hard rock classic. How a band's debut album can be this mind-blowing and influential is beyond me, but that's what happened. This album introduced us to Axl Rose and Slash, two signature names in all of rock. Speaking of signatures in rock, this album also gave us Sweet Child O' Mine. That opening riff is essential to learn for any guitar player. And of course, who could forget the classics Welcome To The Jungle and Paradise City? There's a few things to note about the album. First, you probably noticed the picture above. That's both versions of the cover art. The one on the left is the original (which was considered too graphic), and the one on the right is the one that was eventually released. Thought that'd be cool to show. Secondly, in the track Rocket Queen, during the bridge of the song, you can hear a woman moaning. Apparently that's Axl Rose having sex with a girl, which was recorded and put on the album. Surprised they got away with that.
