10. Whitesnake (1987) - Whitesnake
The 80's was one of those decades where older bands changed their sound up to match the musical climate of the time. KISS had done this with great success with Lick It Up in 1983, but Whitesnake's self-titled seventh album (a.k.a. 1987 overseas) is the really impressive one. It featured the band's signature songs Here I Go Again, the Led Zeppelin influenced Still Of The Night and ballad Is This Love. The album is particularly notable for having re-recorded versions of previous Whitesnake songs. Also, being recorded with a certain group of musicians, then when music videos for the album were produced, there was an entirely different set of musicians, aside from vocalist David Coverdale. Strange, but whatever the reason for that, the album's still amazing. Coverdale's Robert Plant styled wails and John Syke's searing guitar work are most definitely the highlights. If only I had been born a week earlier, Here I Go Again would've been the number one song on Billboard when I was born. Instead, I got Lost In Emotion by Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam. Thanks Mom! (Just kidding, Mom. I love you!)
