However, Clavicle, from their first album Goddamnit best represents to initial adrenaline rush of romance. It's another song, as with First Day Of My Life, about love at first sight but this is the ramshackle and over excited first love of drunken youth. The lyrics sing of catching sight of the subject of Matt Skiba's affection as he saw what looked like really good food, and then he saw and she did too. It's clumsy and chaotic, and it's teenage love at its most honest as it takes months from first sight to getting drunk enough to ask for her number. All this time, all he's wanted to do is wake up naked next her, kissing the curve of her clavicle. It's youthful, and lusty, true, but he wants to be there next morning kissing her tenderly.
