15 Most Distinctive Singing Voices In Rock & Metal

10. David Draiman

Disturbed are likely one of the modern metal era's most recognisable names. Their unmistakable hard-hitting and formulaic style has become iconic among today's metalheads, and, whether you love it or hate it, hear a song by Disturbed and you're undoubtedly going to know who it is straight away.

Frontman David Draiman is largely to do with this. Though the man has recently made a new name for himself with his consistently overrated cover of the consistently overrated Simon and Garfunkel song, 'The Sound of Silence', Draiman's primary singing style is rooted in Disturbed's visceral original works.

You'll immediately pick up on the impressive speed at which he sings, and his harsh, staccato method of enunciation only emphasises this. Amusingly, the quality of his voice itself has been compared to Phil Collins of Genesis - something the band seem to have acknowledged in the past with their cover of Genesis' 'Land of Confusion'.
