15 Most Underrated Bands Of The 90s

3. Kyuss

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCamcUcbX7w The predecessors for Queens of the Stone Age, Kyuss was a curious blend of thick, heavy metal riffage and atmospheric, damn near spacey melodies. It didn't quite make sense for most fans of straightforward metal, and the band failed to catch on in a big way. The longevity of Queens (and success of other Josh Homme related projects like Eagles of Death Metal and Them Crooked Vultures) proves that the world just needed a little more time to acclimate to what we now affectionately refer to as stoner rock or desert rock. But Kyuss didn't have long to catch on before the band decided to call it quits in 1995. They left behind four endearingly messy, jarring, funky, slow-burning, thrashing, mesmerizing albums full of music that is the result of a band who, quite frankly, just does not give a f***. That's a rare thing of beauty in this world.
