15 Most Underrated Hard Rock Albums Of All Time
11. Danger Days - My Chemical Romance
My Chemical Romance had a mountain to climb after the success of their third record The Black Parade. The album was a modern masterpiece for rock and roll, which brought the band to widespread acclaim and even in talks as one of the best bands in the world. So...how the hell do you follow that up?
The answer that the band came up with was a more loose concept that focused on a futuristic ride through a desert landscape. Some of the tunes on this album hit just as hard as on the band's last outing, such as on the opening "NA NA NA NA" or "Destroya," while also featuring more subdued cuts like "SCARECROW." The band even takes the time to take a few jabs at the corporate world of movie soundtracks on the final track "Vampire Money."
Is this album as mind-blowing as The Black Parade? No...not even close. At the same time, Danger Days isn't aiming to outsell the band's previous effort. There was a whole new concept at work on this album, and the results still left fans with more than their fair share of great tunes. MCR had the impossible task of topping their near-perfect predecessor, but their decision to go for broke still left us with a damn good record to wrap up their recording career.
