15 Most Underrated Hard Rock Singers EVER

7. Trent Reznor - Nine Inch Nails

If you were into any kind of heavy music in the 90's, chances are you heard your fair share of Nine Inch Nails. While bands like Pantera and Kyuss may have had meaty riffs, albums like the Downward Spiral put you in a horrifying headspace that would leave you scarred and broken by the record's end. Though Trent Reznor has earned his legendary status as a producer, he doesn't get nearly enough love when talking about his vocal chops.

Sure, the kind of range that Trent has is far from the stylings of guys like Rob Halford or Geoff Tate, but the emotion he brings across can put any seasoned veteran in tears. On songs like "Wish" or "March of the Pigs," Reznor's vocals pummel you with how intense they are, almost as if Reznor will leap through the speakers at any moment. At the same time, the calmer moments in the band's catalog like "Hurt" show the unbridled pain that Reznor is able to bring across in his ballads.

When throwing on these tracks, you get the impression that Reznor isn't just singing these songs but fully inhabiting them. With all his years in dreadful sonic headspaces, Reznor has come out on the other side with some of the most chilling performances the rock world has ever heard.
