Arular is the debut album of M.I.A. It was widely critically acclaimed upon release, particularly for its mix of styles and inclusion of political themes, despite only finding moderate commercial success.
The song "Galang" was actually released three times, once in 2003 as M.I.A.'s first ever single, then again as the second single off of Arular, and then again, this time as "Galang '05," after M.I.A. signed to Interscope Records.
