15 Most Pulse-Pounding Motörhead Tracks

1. Overkill

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VNUyjRRjxM "Overkill" is thrash/speed metal written while Metallica and their 'Bay area brethren were practically still in nappies. Monumentally influential, Metallica themselves covered this song on their Garage Inc. compilation album, it's fair to say that no "Overkill" equals no thrash metal; and a world without thrash metal would be a boring world indeed. The beauty of this track is in its brute-force simplicity. The band are so focused on blasting you into submission, with such unparalleled conviction, that they even tease a break from proceedings at the three minute 14 second mark AND the four minute 11 second mark. On both occasions you wonder, "Is the song about to finish? Dare I take a breath?" Don't be foolish, Motörhead aren't finished with you yet, the song blasting back to batter and bruise you once more. These 'false endings' are always a joy, no matter how many times you've heard them. When "Philthy Animal" Taylor's thundering, galloping drums reemerge, just as you think the band may have burnt out, the blood in your veins involuntarily pumps harder and faster as you desperately try to compete with the unbridled energy the band harnessed on this, the ultimate Motörhead song. Get well soon Lemmy, your raising hell days are far from over, and your fans need you to get back on the road and back on the stage where you belong. A few songs which narrowly missed the cut..."Dead Men Tell No Tales", "In The Name Of Tragedy", "Shoot You In The Back", "No Class", "Rock 'N' Roll". Please comment and discuss the Motörhead tracks which get your pulse-pounding!

I love Heavy Metal, and generally anything that involves a guitar and loud noises, so I figured it was about time I put all the useless information in my head to good use and start writing a few things. Most of the time I'll be writing nonsense but occasionally I may surprise myself and appear half-way knowledgable.....but you can be the judge of that. Thanks for your fleeting attention!
