15 Things Only Bruce Springsteen Fans Will Understand

12. Lucky Town & Human Touch Are Actually Decent Albums

Bruce Springsteen Lucky Town Human Touch Part of Bruce's 'solo' period included him teaming up with session musicians (referred to by fans as 'The Other Band') to record new material and tour. A lot of this new material was not well received and the tours were some of the least critically and commercially successful of Springsteen's career. Bruce released two albums on the same day, Human Touch and Lucky Town, but the critics weren't impressed. The critics were wrong, though. The two albums, while perhaps not quite reaching the same heights as some of Bruce's earlier work with the E Street Band, are actually pretty decent. If it was anyone other than Springsteen's name on the covers the reviews would have been kinder, but The Boss is judged by different standards. Contemporary reception has been kinder to the albums but fans have been singing that tune for years. They knew they were good then and they still listen to them now. Roll Of The Dice, Human Touch, Better Days, Lucky Town, Living Proof and If I Should Fall Behind are all great songs. Bruce doesn't play material from the albums that often during tours but he should. His fans, the true fans want to hear it.
