15 Things Only DJs Will Understand

2. Getting Too Old For This Sh*t

If there's one thing that is often said about DJing it's that it's a young person's game - the late nights, anti-social working hours and transient nature of the work means that those who want to settle down and have a family find it almost impossible to juggle the two. As a DJ gets older they come to realise that they aren't as lively and energetic as they used to be, and all the late nights and gallons of booze are finally taking their toll. From realising that your eardrums are perforated through to struggling to get out of bed the following day, eventually you start to wonder whether or not it's all worth it. Not all DJs run out of steam early on in life and there are some around today who are well into their 50s. But if you want to live to a ripe old age you might be better off considering making a switch into the music studio - production might be time-consuming but at least you can get a normal night's sleep.
