15 Things Only DJs Will Understand

13. Meeting Someone With A Bigger Ego Than Yours

Given that the DJ is often quite literally the centre of attention it's not at all surprising that it attracts more than its fair share of narcissists who just want people to fawn all over them. Huge egos unfortunately go with the territory, so if you want to be a DJ you'd better get used to them. Don't worry, they certainly aren't difficult to spot, since their modus operandi is to be louder and more obnoxious than everyone else in the hope that people swoon at their feet. Another characteristic of the arrogant DJ is that, on the whole they lack any genuine talent and have to make up for it with bravado and bluster. Big-headed DJs are part and parcel to entering the world of DJing, so get used to restraining your temper each time they try to muscle their way onto the decks before it's their turn.
