11. Wading Through Thousands Of New Releases Every Week
Listening to and playing music for a living is a far cry from the worst job you could have, and finding those excellent tunes which really get the crowd going is an incredibly satisfying experience, especially when you consider the huge amount of time which goes into it. When you're a DJ, great music doesn't just wing its way through your door and land on the slipmat - a significant amount of time is spent scouring through the racks in record stores and listening to endless samples online before finding those little gems you've been looking for. It can take a long time before you really know what sound pleases you and the crowds you play to, discovering artists and labels which are fresh and original. Being a DJ might look pretty cool on the surface, but underneath most DJs are essentially spotty geeks not dissimilar to stamp collectors.
