15 Things Only DJs Will Understand

10. Putting Up With Drunks

Clubbing and alcohol go hand in hand - it's very rare to DJ at a venue and not lay eyes on at least one incredibly drunk person stumbling on the dancefloor, held up only by other disgruntled dancers who nudge them around the room like a ball in a pinball machine. Drunkards go with the territory and for the most part go about their business of getting even drunker without being too much of a bother to the DJ. But there are exceptions, and dealing with a drunk can be the tipping point which turns a great night into an absolute nightmare. Whether they decide to come over and talk incessantly into your ear while you're trying to mix or their legs give way and the stumble across the dancefloor and come crashing into the decks, intoxicated clientele are a complete liability all DJs inevitably waste time watching like a hawk. If you can't handle your booze, stay out of the club.
